Samsung Fridge Repair in Windsor, Ontario

Uneven cooling between sections

Many Samsung French-door and side-by-side fridges rely on Twin Cooling Plus, which runs two separate evaporators for the fridge and freezer sides. Once the defrost sensor fails, the freezer wall ices over while the fridge slowly warms up. Top shelves usually stay cold long after the bottom ones don't.

Try first: Unplug it for a full day to let it defrost naturally. If it cools again but the issue returns within a week or two, the defrost sensor or heater has likely failed.

Water collecting under the crisper drawers

This is almost always a blocked defrost drain. On Samsung models the drain sits behind the rear freezer panel, and ice or food debris clogs it over time. With nowhere for the meltwater to go, it backs up and drips under the drawers or onto the floor.

Try first: Pour warm water slowly down the drain opening at the back of the freezer. If it fills with ice again within minutes, the drain heater needs replacing.

Ice maker has stopped making ice

Samsung RF-series ice makers are known for the tray freezing solid. Usually it's a failed water inlet valve, a stuck ice maker module, or a frozen fill tube, most common once the fridge passes the three to five year mark.

Try first: Hold the reset button on the ice maker for about three seconds. No ice and no sound of water filling within 24 hours points to the inlet valve or module.

Error codes flashing on the display

OF OF usually just means the fridge is stuck in demo mode, often after a power outage. RF and PC codes point to a cooling fan or control board fault and need a proper diagnosis to know which part actually failed.

Try first: For OF OF, hold Energy Saver and Power Freeze together for three seconds. For RF or PC, unplug for five minutes. If the code comes back, it's time to call.

Samsung Fridge Repair

A homeowner noticed the bottom half of their Samsung French-door fridge had stopped staying cold, while the freezer worked fine. Unplugging it had helped for a day or two before the problem returned.

Diagnosis & fix

Defrost sensor replaced

The back wall of the freezer was completely iced over, a clear sign the defrost sensor had failed. We replaced it, cleared the ice, and the fridge was back to temperature within a few hours. Covered under our 90-day warranty.

Samsung Washer Repair in Windsor, Ontario

LE or DC error stops the cycle

LE points to an overloaded motor, DC to an unbalanced load. Samsung's VRT washers are sensitive to uneven loads because a Hall sensor tracks drum speed and cuts the cycle the moment something feels off.

Try first: Redistribute the laundry by hand and check the machine is sitting level, then restart. If the error keeps appearing on a balanced, small load, the Hall sensor or suspension rods likely need replacing.

5E or nF error, won't drain or fill

5E means a drain problem, nF means it isn't filling. On Samsung AddWash and WF models the drain pump filter is the usual suspect, clogged with coins, lint, or the odd loose button.

Try first: Open the small filter panel at the bottom front, lay a towel down first, and unscrew it slowly. Clear whatever's inside and run a rinse cycle. If the error stays, the drain pump has likely failed.

Water pooling near the door

Front-load Samsung washers develop tears in the door gasket, especially in the inner fold where moisture sits. It shows up as water on the floor mid-cycle rather than only at the end.

Try first: Fold back the gasket and check the inner crease for tears or mildew, then dry it after every wash. A torn gasket can't be patched, it needs full replacement.

Shaking hard during the spin cycle

Samsung VRT machines use a counterbalance system to keep vibration down. Once the suspension rods wear out, the drum sags slightly and the whole washer can shake or walk across the floor at high spin speeds.

Try first: Confirm all four feet are touching the floor evenly. Still shaking with a small, balanced load points to the suspension rods or drum bearing.

Samsung Washer Repair

An AddWash front-loader kept stopping partway through the cycle with a DC error. The homeowner had already tried rebalancing loads and restarting, but the error wouldn't go away, even on small washes.

Diagnosis & fix

Hall sensor replaced

The sensor tracking drum rotation had failed, so the machine kept misreading balance and stopping as a precaution. We swapped it on the first visit and tested it through several spin speeds. 90-day warranty applied.

Samsung Dryer Repair in Windsor, Ontario

Tumbling but no heat

The usual cause is a blown thermal fuse, a one-time safety part that cuts power when the dryer overheats. On Samsung electric models it sits along the exhaust duct behind the back panel and can't reset on its own.

Try first: Check the outside vent cap for lint blockage. A restricted vent overheats the dryer and blows the fuse, so clear that first or the new fuse will just blow again.

tS, tO, or hE error on the panel

tS means a shorted thermistor, tO an open one, hE a heating circuit fault. All three commonly point to a failed thermistor or heating element on Samsung DV models.

Try first: Unplug for ten minutes and restart. If the code returns, the thermistor or element needs testing and likely replacing.

Squealing or thumping noise

Worn drum rollers or a stretched belt are the usual culprits. Samsung dryers use two rear rollers and a front bearing, any of which can wear flat over time and get noisier with every load.

Try first: Run it empty. Quiet with no load usually means clothing or a zipper was the noise. Still squealing empty points to the rollers or belt.

Dryer shuts off before clothes are actually dry

The moisture sensor strips inside the drum pick up a coating from fabric softener and dryer sheets over time, and start reading "dry" too early.

Try first: Find the two thin metal strips near the lint trap and wipe them with rubbing alcohol. Still cutting cycles short after that points to the thermistor or control board.

Samsung Dryer Repair

Full cycles were running but clothes kept coming out damp. The lint trap was clean, no error codes showed, and the drum was turning as normal.

Diagnosis & fix

Heating element and vent cleared

The element had burned out from overheating caused by a partially blocked wall vent. We replaced the element and cleared the duct in the same visit, since fixing only one would likely have burned out the new part again within months. 90-day warranty applied.

Samsung Dishwasher Repair in Windsor, Ontario

5C or OC error, won't drain

5C is Samsung's drain error, triggered when the machine can't empty after a cycle. WaterWall and StormWash models clog a bit faster than most because of how much water they push through the filter.

Try first: Pull out the bottom rack, lift the filter at the base of the tub, and rinse it under the tap. Clean monthly if that clears it. Still stuck after that points to the drain pump or check valve.

Dishes coming out with grit or residue

Samsung StormWash models run water through a network of small spray-arm nozzles that clog with mineral buildup over time, dropping the water pressure and leaving film even on a full cycle.

Try first: Unclip the spray arms, rinse under the tap, and clear each nozzle with a toothpick. No improvement after that usually means the circulation pump is wearing out.

Leaking from the door

Door gaskets can harden and crack after a few years, or the door itself can shift slightly out of alignment, either way letting water escape mid-cycle.

Try first: Run a cycle and press along the gasket to feel for gaps or drips. A cracked gasket needs replacing outright, while a misaligned door can sometimes just need the hinges adjusted.

LC or LE error, leak sensor triggered

There's a leak sensor built into the base pan on Samsung dishwashers, and even a small drip is enough to stop the cycle. It won't restart until that pan is completely dry.

Try first: Tilt the unit forward slightly to drain the pan, then dry it thoroughly with a towel. If the error clears once and comes back, there's an active leak somewhere in the pump, hose, or door seal.

Samsung Dishwasher Repair

Water kept collecting at the bottom of the tub after every cycle, even though the filter was clean and no error codes appeared.

Diagnosis & fix

Drain pump check valve replaced

The check valve had failed, letting drained water flow back into the tub, a common wear point in Samsung dishwashers after three or four years of regular use. Replaced in one visit, and two test cycles confirmed it was draining properly. 90-day warranty applied.

Samsung Stove & Range Repair in Windsor, Ontario

Burner clicks but won't light

Samsung gas ranges use sealed burners with electronic igniters, and food debris or moisture around the electrode is usually to blame. A burner cap sitting slightly off-centre is another common cause.

Try first: Lift off the cap and grate, clean around the igniter with a dry toothbrush, and reseat everything carefully. Still won't spark once it's fully dry? The igniter or spark module needs replacing.

Glass or induction element not heating

Glass-top and induction ranges can develop faults in the surface element or the switch controlling it. On induction models the coil itself can fail silently, no error, just no heat.

Try first: Test a different burner zone to see if the fault is isolated. One dead zone usually means the element or switch. Several zones out points toward the control board.

SE or C-d0 error on the display

SE typically means a shorted key on the touch panel, often from moisture getting under the surface. C-d0 is a communication fault between the display and the main board.

Try first: Unplug for five minutes. If SE clears briefly but returns, the membrane switch needs replacing. C-d0 usually means the board itself needs attention.

Igniter keeps clicking with everything off

Moisture inside the igniter assembly causes this, usually after cleaning the stovetop with too much water or a boil-over that seeped in.

Try first: Remove the caps and grates and let everything air dry for a few hours, or use a hair dryer on low. Clicking that continues after it's fully dry means the spark module needs replacing.

Recent repair · LaSalle

Samsung Stove Repair

One burner wouldn't stop clicking, even with every burner switched off. It started right after a boil-over the week before, and the stovetop had already been cleaned thoroughly.

Diagnosis & fix

Igniter dried, switch replaced

Moisture from the boil-over had gotten into the spark module. After drying it out and testing each channel, one had failed and needed a new switch. All four burners were confirmed working before we left. 90-day warranty applied.

Samsung Oven Repair in Windsor, Ontario

Oven won't reach the set temperature

The bake element, the lower heating element doing most of the work, is the most common failure point on Samsung electric ovens. The oven may still seem to function since the broil element keeps working, it just won't get hot enough.

Try first: Set it to bake at 350°F and check through the window after ten minutes. A dark lower element next to a glowing upper one confirms the bake element has failed.

Uneven baking, hot spots or underdone centres

The oven's temperature sensor can drift out of calibration over time, so the actual temperature ends up 20 to 50 degrees off from the display, and food ends up burnt on one side or raw in the middle.

Try first: Put an oven thermometer inside and compare the reading to the display. More than about 25 degrees off points to a faulty sensor or a calibration setting worth adjusting.

SE error or the panel stops responding

SE on Samsung ovens usually means a stuck or shorted key on the membrane panel, common on units four to six years old where the surface starts to peel or moisture works its way under the buttons.

Try first: Unplug for five minutes. If SE clears but comes back within days, the membrane switch needs replacing before it damages the control board underneath.

Heat escaping around the door

The door gasket hardens, compresses, or pulls away from the frame after enough years of use, so heat radiates out during baking and the kitchen ends up warmer than it should.

Try first: Run your hand slowly around the door edge while it's heating. Feeling heat anywhere along it means the gasket needs replacing. A door that doesn't sit flush can sometimes just need the hinges adjusted.

Recent repair · Fontainebleau

Samsung Oven Repair

Everything baked was coming out underdone in the middle no matter how much extra time was added. The display showed the right temperature and there were no error codes to go on.

Diagnosis & fix

Temperature sensor replaced

An oven thermometer confirmed the actual temperature was running 45 degrees below the setting, a sign the sensor had drifted. We replaced it, recalibrated the oven, and a test bake came out even across the whole tray. 90-day warranty applied.
